Born and raised in Texas, multi-instrumentalist AJ Adams got his start with music at an early age. His father taught him trumpet when he was just 8 years old and ignited a passion for music that has only grown since. While he is a classically trained performer, AJ is a self-taught guitar player and singer-songwriter.
His musical idols range from Ray Charles to Ray Lamontagne, and everything in-between. Growing up to the sounds of Blues and Motown, a great deal of his songwriting has been influenced by their classic combination of distinct rhythms and harmonies.
Outside of regular appearances in Deep Ellum and Downtown Dallas, AJ has done a great deal of charity work including playing for the Sue Weaver C.A.U.S.E “Dancing for Cause” and several benefit concerts to support a Kenyan Mission Trip and a solo benefit concert to raise money for M.S.
Recently, AJ performed out in LA with lead guitarist and collaborator Alex McKee. Now living on the East Coast, AJ is expanding his fan base to Boston, so keep an eye out for shows in the area! His first album, “Heart to Give” is a mix of soulful melodies and strong lyricism; and available now!
